Contemporary Theatre is a Ukrainian artistic group, conceived to create and produce Ukrainian classical and modern performing arts projects. 

With Contemporary Theatre establishment, the group realizes a long-awaited opportunity to research and reframe the world-famous Ukrainian classics delicately, with all the consideration and reverence required for work with the rich cultural heritage.

Involving gifted and merited artists, Contemporary Theatre was inaugurated with the premiere of Chasing Two Hares, — a ballet comedy, a love confession to Kyiv, and a show to live up to its other name: the Kyiv Comedy. 

With original score, choreography, scenery and costume design, referred to Ukraine’s classical painter Maria Prymachenko works, Contemporary Theatre group puts a new spin to the well-known, classical Kiyv story.

Being the very first ballet performance to be based on Mykhailo Starytsky play, the Chasing Two Hares was premiered at the National Opera House of Ukraine. Now Chasing Two Hares, a ballet is featured in its active repertoire.
